Hydraulic cylinders, pumps and hoses

We sell and service hydraulics for agricultural and industrial equipment in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Cylinders, pumps, hoses and fittings. If the loader will not lift, start with a phone call.

A machine shop floor with a lathe and benches under overhead lighting
Hydraulic work is machine work. Rods get measured, bores get honed, seals go back in dry and clean.

A cylinder lets go in October

It never happens in February. The boom sags, the rod has a score down one side, and there is oil on the ground under the loader.

Pull the cylinder and bring it in. Call first so we know what is coming and can start looking for the seal kit.

A cylinder barrel, scuffed back to bare steel. The paint is not the problem; the seal inside it is.

Cylinders

Rebuilt, resealed or replaced. Tie rod and welded bodies, loader cylinders, steering, three point and tilt.

Pumps and motors

Gear and piston pumps, hydraulic motors, valve bodies. Bring the pump and the symptom: slow, noisy, hot, or nothing at all.

Hoses and fittings

Hose made up to length with the ends you need. Bring the old one, even in pieces, and we will match it.

Fittings and couplers, sorted by thread and seat.
Two braided stainless hydraulic hoses with crimped hex ends
Crimped ends. The fitting and the hose have to match the pressure, not just the diameter.
A bank of hydraulic hose runs with copper coloured tubing
Hose runs on a machine, routed to keep bends off the ferrule.
Hydraulic hose runs across the frame of an implement against a blue sky
Hoses chafe where they cross the frame. That is usually where they blow, and usually in the field.

Pumps, valves and the rest of it

A pump that whines is pulling air. A pump that is hot is working against something. Either way, the part in your hand tells us more than a description does.

A pump housing with the ports open.
A yellow painted hydraulic valve body on a machine
Valve body, still wearing its factory enamel.
Spiral wrapped hydraulic hoses running along red machinery
Spiral wrap where hoses rub together.
A pump unit with a large coiled suction hose beside it
Suction side. Air gets in here, not at the pressure port.
A worn hydraulic unit with chipped paint and fittings
Chipped paint is not the problem. The weep at the fitting is.

Farm equipment and industrial

Loaders, tractors, skid steers, balers, trucks, shop presses and plant machinery. If it runs on oil under pressure, bring it to us.

A boom arm with its hydraulic cylinder rod extended against a blue sky
A boom holds its load on one rod. Bigger machine, bigger bore, same seal job.

Harvest does not wait for a parts order. Call before you haul anything in, so we can check what is on the shelf.

If you are not sure which cylinder is leaking, wipe the rods down and run the loader once. The wet one is the one.

A green painted valve and pipe run on industrial plant equipment
Plant equipment runs the same circuits, plumbed in hard line.
The linkage and levers of a shop press in close-up
Shop press linkage. Presses come in for seals too.
A metal lathe bed with chuck and tool post in a workshop
Honing, turning and threading keep a rebuild honest.

The shop side of the job

Some cylinders come back as parts and leave as cylinders. That takes a lathe, a press and the right seal on the shelf.

A lathe lit by a single hanging lamp in a workshop
Turning a rod end.
A grinding wheel with a coolant line running to the work
Coolant on the cut keeps the finish right.
A drill press over a steel bench with bar stock laid out
Bar stock and a bench, for the brackets nobody sells.
A wall rack of wrenches above a workshop bench
Wrenches on the wall, in order, because hydraulic fittings come in odd sizes.
Shop tooling stored on a rack with machinery behind it
Tooling racked where it can be reached.
Hand tools and safety goggles laid out on a workshop bench
Goggles on. Pressurised oil does not forgive.
Fluid and lubricant carts standing in a workshop
Clean oil in, or the rebuild is wasted. Most failures come back to contamination.
